Why an overnight basal thermometer

One reading a morning tells you almost nothing.

The basal body temperature rise that confirms ovulation is roughly three tenths of a degree. Taken once with a manual basal thermometer, half-awake, it disappears into the noise.

A simpler nightly routine

The basal thermometer you wear, not the one you reach for.

  1. Wear it

Place Venus Duo high on your inner upper arm, immediately below the axilla, before bed.

  2. Sleep normally

It tracks your basal body temperature and sleep overnight while the soft carrier maintains comfortable skin contact.

  3. Wake to your chart

Your BBT chart, cycle and sleep trends are waiting in the Venus App — no fertility subscription required.

Built for real life

More than a basal thermometer.

Venus Duo starts with effortless overnight basal temperature tracking, but the hardware is designed to stay useful beyond a single stage of life.

Useful beyond your cycle

A temperature tool for the moments that matter.

Remove the module from the strap and use infrared mode for a convenient non-contact spot check — including when you want to check your baby's temperature without waking them unnecessarily.

For fever or illness concerns, use temperature readings together with appropriate clinical advice.

A wearable you actually own

Your fertility data shouldn't sit behind a subscription.

Buy Venus Duo once and keep using its core temperature and fertility features for the life of the device.

Engineered for contact

Comfort is part of measurement quality.

A basal thermometer is only as good as its skin contact. The Venus textile crest is designed to distribute pressure and hold the sensor steady overnight, so your BBT readings stay consistent night after night.

Why we built it

Made by a doctor who needed it to exist.

Venus Health started in Alice Springs in 2019. During COVID, antenatal and lactation support all but vanished, and the reproductive health tools available were either expensive or hard to trust. We were new parents ourselves, hitting the same walls as everyone else.

This wearable is the device we wanted then.

Questions

What is a basal thermometer, and how is Venus Duo different?

A basal thermometer measures basal body temperature (BBT) — your lowest resting temperature, which rises slightly after ovulation. A manual basal thermometer needs a reading at the same time each morning before you move. Venus Duo is a wearable basal thermometer: it measures overnight while you sleep, so there is no morning routine to remember or get wrong.

How is this different from a waking reading?

A waking reading is a single measurement, taken at a moment that shifts with your alarm and your sleep. Venus Duo measures through the night instead, so the pattern comes from many readings rather than one.

Where do I wear it?

High on the inner upper arm, immediately below the axilla. The soft carrier and textile crest keep contact steady without a hard edge against your skin.

Does it work if my cycles are irregular?

Apps that predict from past dates struggle when cycles change. Venus Duo measures what your body is doing now, which is exactly the situation where measurement beats prediction.

Do I need a subscription?

No. Core temperature and fertility features work for the life of the device with a one-time purchase.

Can I use the infrared mode on my baby?

Yes. Remove the module from the strap and use IR mode for a convenient non-contact spot check. For fever or illness concerns, use readings alongside appropriate clinical advice.

Is it comfortable to sleep in?

The module sits recessed in a soft carrier, so your skin meets textile rather than a hard plastic edge, and the padded crest spreads pressure across a wider area.

Can I use it as contraception?

No. Venus Duo is not a contraceptive and should not be used to prevent pregnancy. Temperature methods confirm ovulation after it has happened.
