The Venus LH test kit detects LH levels in the midstream urine, a qualitative test that is highly reliable for predicting ovulation. The LH kit works with the Venus fertility APP. Using image recognition technology the APP. can detect the reading on the kit and uses it to predict ovulation.

How to Use

LH Ovulation Test Procedure

Determine the
length of your menstrual cycle before the test (The length of the menstrual
cycle is the duration from your first menstrual bleeding day to the day before
the next bleeding begins). Please refer to the chart above to determine when
you should start testing. If you do not know your cycle length, you may begin
the test 11 days after your first period since the average cycle length is 28
days.

3 Easy steps to use:

1. Collect urine in provided cup.

2. Insert Kit in cup.

3. Read result after 1 - 2 minutes.

OR

- Hold kit across midstream urine.

- Read after 1 - 2 minutes.

How to read the result:

Positive (LH Surge): If two color lines are visible and the test line is equal to or darker than the control line. A positive result indicates the presence of a high amount of Luteinizing Hormone or LH surge.

Negative (No LH Surge): Only one line is visible or the test line is lighter than the control line.

Invalid Test: If both lines are missing or if the control line is missing.

FAQ

How long should I continue to
perform the test?

At least 5 days or until the LH
surge has been detected.

Once I see a positive result,
when is the best time to have intercourse?

Ovulation is likely to occur
within 24-48 hours. This is the most fertile time. Sexual intercourse is
advised within this time frame.

I have received a positive
result and had intercourse during these fertile days. I have not become
pregnant. What shall I do?

Many factors can affect your
ability to become pregnant. Often you may need to use the test kit for 3-4
months. You and your partner should consult your physician if pregnancy is not
achieved after 3-4 months.

Will the amount of liquid I
drink affect the result?

We suggest that you limit your
fluid intake for about two hours before you collect your urine. Because heavy
intake of fluids prior to testing will dilute the hormone in your urine.

Can test results be interpreted
after more than 5 minutes?

No. Test results must be read at
5 minutes. Though a positive result should not change for several days, a
negative result may change to a false positive within minutes after the end of
the testing period, which would not be an accurate reading. It is always best
to read the results at the 5-minute testing period and then discard the test to
avoid confusion.

Can any medication or medical
condition affect the result?

Certain medical conditions and
medications can adversely affect the performance of the test: for example, if
you are actually pregnant, have recently been pregnant, have reached menopause
or have polycystic ovarian syndrome you may get a misleading result. This may
also be true if you are taking fertility drugs containing Luteinizing Hormone
or Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin (such as
Pregnyl® and Profasi®). Clomiphene citrate (Clomid®) does not affect the
tests, but may affect the length of your cycle and, therefore, when you should
be testing.

I previously tested
Positive (Pregnant) but have tested again and got a negative result, or my
period has started. What does this mean?

It is possible to get a positive
result and later find out you are no longer pregnant. This is called early
pregnancy loss which is sadly not uncommon, affecting around 1 in 4
pregnancies. Happily, most women can go on to have a healthy pregnancy afterwards.

How to make sure I am
getting the most accurate result?

If you want to test as early as
possible, but want to make sure you are getting the most accurate reading, test
the day your next period is supposed to begin - you will have a 99% chance of
getting an accurate result.

There is much difference
between the control lines of two tests. Is this a concern?

No. Variations in the color of the
control line will not affect the test result.

A pink background color
and vertical streaking appeared in the result area during the testing period.
Is this a concern?

No. Each urine sample will vary in
its chemical makeup, as will the humidity of the air in testing room. Such
variations in physical conditions can cause vertical streaking and/or pink-rose
background color but will not affect the test results. As long as the control
band appears within 5 minutes, the test is working properly.

Is there anything I
should do if I am planning to get pregnant?

It's a good idea to speak to your
doctor before you try to get pregnant. Many doctors advise taking folic acid or
prenatal vitamin supplements, avoiding alcohol, stopping smoking, and that
trying to maintain a healthy weight can be beneficial. You may also want to
consider using an ovulation test to identify your most fertile days.
